Katie Monroe is a voice who has been told on numerous occasions that she needs to be in people's ears. Katie ignored this advice for quite some time, until apparently people wouldn't shut up about it. So, here we are. Her response? "Fine. You owe me one." Katie is also an author under two pen names, writing on opposite ends of the literary spectrum. She's been part of the indie book industry since 2022 and is an avid reader, which is probably why her TBR pile has become less of a reading list and more of a problem nobody needs to discuss.
Outside of books and recording, Katie is a military wife, mother of many dragons, and a Starbucks regular. She has an unhealthy attachment to burning candles and she has two dogs, which should be enough to keep PETA satisfied, given her ongoing commitment to eating burgers and chicken.

So, here's the deal. I'm currently working on setting up a recording studio in my home. Unfortunately, studios don't magically appear because you bought a microphone and decided you have a voice people should listen to. There's equipment, soundproofing, resources, and, of course, money. All of which takes time. Annoying, really.
In the meantime, I'm opening up my microphone to indie authors who want short narrated snippets of their books for promotional videos, particularly on TikTok. Here's how it works: You send me a passage from your book, tell me the vibe you're going for, and I'll put together a video featuring your words and my voice. No complicated process. No unnecessary meetings. Just your words, brought to life.
It's a pretty good arrangement, if you ask me. I get experience, exposure, and the opportunity to work on my voice acting while building toward my own studio. You get a sample of your book narrated by an actual human voice, which is particularly useful if you've been wanting to experiment with audiobook narration but aren't quite ready to sell a kidney to afford an entire audiobook production. As an indie author myself, I understand that budgets exist. Unfortunately, so do bills.
And because I appreciate a decent deal, your first recording is free. Completely free. No catch, no hidden fees, no small print written by someone who hates you. Any additional recordings are $5 each, which will be going directly toward my Starbucks addiction. Consider it an investment in independent authors supporting independent authors, with a little caffeine involved.
